It took some time before Colette decided that a career with vulnerable people was for her. It must have been the right decision she’s worked her way up from front line support worker to Operations Director, doing every job along the way working with people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. She played a big part in spinning out the service from the council into Possabilities CIC.
There was a good reason why Collette took some time to settle on her career. Travelling is her passion. She’s worked on a kibbutz, picking and sorting tomatoes on a conveyer belt; trekked in Peru; travelled around South America and South East Asia; crossed New Zealand in a camper van; went to Australia; and got married in Las Vegas.
In between times she has worked in Greece and been a waitress on Bondi Beach.
